Derry es fotógrafa profesional desde 1985, y llegó a serlo de lado. Trabajaba en una tienda de fotografía, su jefe estaba comprometido con dos bodas y le encargó aquella.

En 2024 dejó veintitrés años de carrera en la enseñanza para dedicarse a tiempo completo a enseñar fotografía. Enseña a principiantes en grupos de seis como máximo, en persona en la península y de forma individual por vídeo desde cualquier lugar, y dirige la escuela junto a Caro.

Lo primero que aprendí, antes que cualquier técnica, fue a ver y entender cómo la luz puede hacer o arruinar una fotografía.

Ella valora cada fotografía presentada, y el primer premio es una hora de su tiempo.

¿Qué es Last Light?

Concurso de fotografía organizado por Camstrap, con jurado anónimo y doce premios. Se celebra durante las seis semanas de otoño en las que la luz es óptima y finaliza el 15 de octubre de 2026.

¿Quién puede entrar?

Cualquier persona mayor de 18 años, en cualquier parte del mundo. No es necesario ser profesional ni haber participado en ningún concurso anteriormente.

¿Cómo se juzga?

Blind, by one judge. Derry Caulfield sees the photograph, its title, and the one line about where and when. She does not see your name, your email address or your follower count. She does read that line, so a country written into it is a country she sees. The light counts double; then the moment; then the craft. Her decision is final.

¿Necesito un arnés Camstrap o alguna cámara en particular?

Three. Choose them carefully: once a photograph is submitted it cannot be changed or taken back, so enter when you are happy with it.

Entre el 1 de agosto y el 15 de octubre de 2026. Tiene que ser de esta temporada; ese es el objetivo principal del premio.

¿Me quedo con los derechos de autor?

Siempre. Le das permiso a Camstrap para mostrar tu participación en la galería y, cuando se anuncien los resultados, se te mencionará. Si quedas entre los doce primeros, ese permiso se extiende al marketing de Camstrap durante dos años. Nada más.

¿Está permitida la IA?

Can I change my mind?

An entry cannot be edited once it is in. If you want one taken down, write to benjamin@cam-strap.com from the address you entered with and we will remove it, before or after the closing date.
